Grading
Cover graded first. Usually, items are graded visually.
Abreviations: M/M: Sealed or unplayed items
EX/EX: Items in near mint condition. Usually second hand items with very light surface marks or no surface marks & excellent sound quality- Cover could have slight wear and/or creasing.
VG+/VG+: The record has been played, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite some surface marks. Wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects.
VG/VG: Less quality than VG+ in sound listening and cover, but the item is acceptable. No major defects.
GOOD: Sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc...
FAIR: The record is still playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR or BAD: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. For rare items, something like: a bad record is better than no record...
