PRINCIPAL EDWARDS MAGIC THEATRE - 'THE ASMOTO RUNNING BAND' - STEREO VINYL LP  - DANDELION - DAN 8002 - 1971


Description

A 33 1/3 RPM stereo vinyl LP, 'The Asmoto Running Band' by the British 'performance collective', Principal Edwards Magic Theatre.

The album was released in 1971 on John Peel's Dandelion label. 

This was the 2nd and last studio album from the 'Magic Theatre' incarnation of the band. Recorded at Tangerine Studios and released in 1971

All of the music was written by 'Root' Cartwright, apart from "Freef(R') All" by Roger Swallow, the lyrics are credited below on the track listing.

Musicians:- Belinda Bourquin, David Jones, Jeremy Ensor, Martin Stellman, Roger Swallow, 'Root' (Cartwright), Vivienne McAuliffe.

Also credited on the sleeve, as part of the 'Magic Theatre' :- Harry Housman & Lance Dunlop (lighting); Gillian Hadley, John McMahon-Hill & Martin Nettles (choreography etc.)

The gatefold sleeve has has photos by, and was designed by, Hipgnosis. A full track listing and various credits etc. on the back. Inside the gatefold are full lyrics. In the bottom corner of the right-hand, inner sleeve the album is credited as an 'Alexis Korner Production'

Plain, white paper, inner sleeve ('Made In England' and patent nos printed on one side)

Purple 'Dandelion' label, with the eponymous flower on 'Side 3' with all the tracks being listed on the black & white label on 'Side 4'. 

The publishing credits include 'Alexis Korner Music' on the label

NB. There is no suggestion that this is a double album with one disc missing. This just appears to be another idiosyncrasy of the band. It is only a single disc release.

Condition

The vinyl  looks VG+. 

There are no noticeable marks or scratches, no pops or surface noise on playback . 

The sleeve is G+, with some edge wear and very faint ring wear, However the surface has been removed in top right-hand, corner (plus a much smaller patch in the middle (see photos). 

The inner sleeve is in good, unmarked condition with just some light creasing.
