Any records showing more than light scratches are played to ensure there are no skips.
Grading for Vinyl: NM Playing surfaces will look new with no signs of mishandling. EX At most a few minor scratches that have little effect on the playing. Could show light marks. VG+ A record with more scratches that could add some minor background pops and crackles. VG Even more scratches, but a listenable record, and well liked and used.
Grading for Sleeve: NM Possibly still in shrink wrap, no damage observed. EX May show some light wear. VG+ Greater shelf and use wear. VG Damaged areas or split seams, marks and dirt showing. G Not the best for sure, see photos.
