The song reached the number four position in the UK in the autumn of 1986, rose to number six on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in the US and number one on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart in 1987, #5 on the US Cash Box Top 100, #10 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales Chart and #12 on the US Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart then also resulted in a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group.
