Twisting the Jug is an album by saxophonist with trumpeter and organist recorded in 1961 and released on the label. Joseph Dwight Newman (September 7, 1922 – July 4, 1992) was an American trumpeter, composer, and educator, best known as a musician who worked with during two periods Eugene McDuff (September 17, 1926 – January 23, 2001), known professionally as "Brother" Jack McDuff or "Captain" Jack McDuff, was an American organist and organ trio bandleader who was most prominent during the and era of the 1960s, often performing with an organ trio. He is also credited with giving guitarist his first break.
