This single was released just as Liz was making headlines worldwide by carrying on a scandalous affair with Richard Burton on the set of Cleopatra. Burton introduced himself to her with the scintillating line "Has anyone ever told you you're a very pretty girl?"
Despite this inauspicious opening, the both-already-married-to-somebody-else pair commenced a torrid romance. In the lyrics of Elizabeth, the Hollywood Flames urge "..we're pullin' for you to do the right thing!", but she didn't take their advice.
