Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
I am pleased to offer for sale this exceptional example of Pink Floyd's ninth studio album: Wish You Were Here.
As is shown below, the album features all the signs of a true UK first pressing. Remarkably, the record retains the original black shrink wrap that the album was sold in 48 years ago!!
Album Details:
Serial number: SHVL 814
Matrix number: A - 1 / B - 4
Mother & stamper codes: 3 RGL / 1 GOD
Vinyl Weight: 146g
The matrix numbers inform us that the vinyl is a UK first pressing crossover. Side 1 is from the first pressing run and side 2 is from the second (B-3 is first). The mother & stamper codes suggest that the record was produced relatively early in the production run. Consequently, the audio reproduction is fantastic! Take a listen yourself below!
The labels are the first variant with Waters-Gilmour-Wright song-writers credit for 'Shine on You Crazy Diamond' Side 1 Part 5. This was reduced to Waters on later variants
The sleeve is the first variant evidenced by the pinched spine, black shrink wrap and Wish You Were Here sticker.
Completing the album is the original card lyric inner sleeve, with a notch to the top edge and which is die-cut on three of the four corners, and the first variant postcard with crinkled edges.

Condition:
The condition report provided below is given as a guide only. Vinyl: EXCELLENT +
Labels: MINT -
The labels are bright, clean and without writing. No spindle wear is visible.
Visual: EXCELLENT
The record retains superb deep-gloss playing surfaces. In bright daylight there are no visible marks to the surface of the record. Under the glare of a halogen desk lamp wispy paper hairline marks can be seen alongside an iridescent rainbow sheen.   Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
Please use the eBay internet site to enjoy the audio clips. The eBay app does not facilitate playback.
Side 1: EXCELLENT +

Side 2: EXCELLENT

As can be heard in the audio clips, the vinyl sounds simply fantastic. Both lead-ins are quiet. Minimal static can be heard in between tracks on Side 1. Side 2 suffers with the tracking issues that most early B side pressings do which causes a light crackle in quiet sections. I have graded EX as this is an issue with the pressing not the record and the louder parts of the side still play spectacularly. There is great channel separation, superb clarity and exceptional dynamism.
Sleeve: MINT -
This shop-new sleeve looks superb! The shrink has been opened along the opening edge which it has pulled away from over time. As is to be expected, the shrink has slightly wrinkled. There are no tears/splits other than that along the opening edge. The two visible corners are strong.
Inner Sleeve: MINT -
The original inner sleeve looks new.
Additional Details:
Before the audio test was performed the vinyl was cleaned first by an Okki Nokki vacuum cleaner (using L'art du Son cleaning solution) and then an Audio Desk ultrasonic cleaner.
After cleaning, the vinyl is housed inside a brand new mobile fidelity anti-static inner sleeve.
The vinyl will be packaged outside of the sleeve, both of which are stored inside an archival quality polypropylene outer sleeve.
The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.
