Black Sabbath - S/T - Debut - UK - 1970 Philips First Pressing
Matrix: Side A) V06 1Y * 1 420 12 1 Side B) V06 2Y * 1 420 12 2
During 1970, Vertigo released 4 variations of the 'Black Sabbath' album.
This is the very first.
First Pressing Markers Include: - large Vertigo logo above spindle hole
- below the spindle: the word 'Vertigo' and 'A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT' - 'Copyright subsists in all Stereo recordings' is printed inside the GF right side bottom. The word 'Stereo' was immediately replaced with the word 'Vertigo' for ALL 3 remaining 1970 pressings.
Cover: EX++ What wear exists is purely from age & normal use. The cover has clearly been well cared for. There is very minor bottom seam shelf-scuffing. That's it. No bumps, writing, creases, tears, or splits.
This GF is in gorgeous shape and guaranteed to please.
Vinyl: NM+ Super clean. Appears as new to the naked eye under normal lighting. I see one surface spider line.
Labels: NM+ Perfect & clean.
Original Inner: VG++ There is a tear in the paper on one side. The inner poly-liner is not impacted. Shows typical aging.
Playback: MINT- Played it from start to finish twice. Audio grades: 9.8/10
