(..WITCH BURNING....) by ( SALEM MASS )...... ....( a fan says: I'm always going on about what a great year for music 1971 was but this remarkable long play from 1971, I honestly had never heard. While perusing some friends' reviews on RYM, I came across this release. Sometimes, actually quite often, folks on here go a little overboard but I thought I would look into this recording. After checking around, a friend of mine had a CDR of this album so I burned a copy (SIN). Holy cow, what a cool release Witch Burning is. Not nearly as Black Sabbathy as you might expect from that cover but some nice Mike Snead guitar driven heavy psych rock with some of the most amazing Moog from Jim Klahr this side of ELP. Check out ashratom's review for more on that. There are one or two filler tracks but overall a terrific heavy psych rock long play from the best year for music and a "one and done" from 1971.
