Metallica Ride The Lightning LP 1984 Megaforce Records MRI769 First Press Silver
Up for sale is a copy of Metallica - Rode the Lightning. This is the original silver label Megaforce pressing, not the first Elektra pressing, which is actually the second pressing. This is a true first pressing before they signed with Elektra. The record and sleeve are in really good shape. The album has some light paper marks and a couple faint needle marks, but no scratches or knocks. There is some static noise on the very quiet parts, but pops, or skips. It plays very well and presents even better. The cover has some slight creases, and a knick and very slight tear at the opening, as seen in the pictures. The mail-order sheet is still included. The printed inner sleeve is in great shape too. There is some light wear on the corners and the start of ring wear at the bottom, but no seam splits on the inner or the cover. I will ship the album in a mobile fidelity archival inner sleeve, outside of the cover, to prevent any damage to both the inner and outer sleeves. Some may grade this as VG+, but I'd rather downplay the graded so that you are pleased about the condition, rather than disappointment in getting something that is not as advertised.
I will ship the album in a proper LP mailer with cardboard stiffeners and corner padding to ensure a safe delivery.
