Foghat

'Rock And Roll Outlaws'

Bearsville, UK, 1974

K55502

FORMED AS a killer amalgam of Black Cat Bones and Savoy Brown. Ripping 12-bar boogie is the order of the day and it doesn't get much earthier than here. This is one of two albums that really consolidated the Foghat sound - huge riffing monster boogie influenced by Cactus and Status Quo.

Lonesome Dave Peverett is in fine fettle, kicking into 12-bar grooves big time, whilst Rod 'The Bottle' Price slices and dices his guitar like a man possessed. Naturally, the lead track 'Eight Days On The Road' lays down the law in a big way - energy to spare and guitars on fire. Other classic tracks included 'Trouble In My Way', 'Shirley Jean' and the title track itself. Best of all though is the brilliant 'Chateau Lafitte '59 Boogie' - a monster 6 minute long boogie that crushes everything in its path. Its the sound of a band fully in control of their musical destiny playing in a style that ultimately reaped massive rewards. Sure it's raw and yes, the pace makes damn certain that the rock 'n roll content is well represented and always in the red zone. You will not be disapointed.

Pressing: Bearsville, UK, 1974

Vinyl: Nice super clean condition. No spindle marks and virtually no signs of any use whatsoever. Grades as a super nice MINT-!

Cover: Virtually no signs of use. As you know, this album was issued in a cream coloured cover - prone to massive wear and tear. This one is the best I've ever had. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 49 years after release. Grades as Nr MINT!

Inserts: None
