Grading Scale
Records:
Mint (M) – Absolutely perfect in every way. Never been played and usually sealed.
Near Mint (NM) – Record is glossy. No Warp. Very few signs of use. Visually like new.
Very Good Plus (VG+) – Few visually or audible faults (little rub, light marks, little or no audible crackle). May have very slight warp. No label issues.
Very Good (VG) – Light pops and clicks, light visible scratches. Visually and audibly USED. May have slight warp not affecting play. Minor label writing or marks.
Good (G) – Plays through without skipping. Significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. May have noticable warp. Label writing/labels/peeling.
Poor (P) Major noise issues. The record itself is cracked, badly warped and/or has deep scratches. Label is gone or very damaged.
Covers:
Mint (M) – Absolutely perfect in every way. Usually sealed.
Near Mint (NM) – Very minor signs of wear or cover impressions. Artwork is as close to new as possible. Often still has shrink.
Very Good Plus (VG+) – Clean but may have neat writing or small marks with some minor wear. Minor ring wear, Slight discoloration, No Creases, No Bad Corners. May still have shrink.
Very Good (VG) – Cover shows wear/use. Possible seam splits, Moderate ring-wear, Yellowing or discoloration, More noticible writing/labels/marks, Corners may have damage or small creases. No water damage.
Good (G) – Has significant ring wear, heavy writing, or obvious damage. Has seam splits obvious on sight. Could have minor water damage.
Poor (P) Cover is torn, Partially missing, scribbles or deep impressions, heavy damage, very faded. Could have major water damage.
