RARE original 1st Turkish pressing of 1979 housed in gatefold jacket.
GRADING:
LP Record: VG++ - but plays solid EX with little or no surface noise in between tracks - has some visible papersleeve marks all over but nothing deep.
Fragile Gatefold Jacket: VG++, still very nice. No split seams or anything.
Some words on this issue: SELDA: “S/T” (Turkula – TR-STR-324) Original 1st Turkish pressing. Record has quite some paper scuffmarks but no scratches. Quite common for Turkish LP’s of that era. Stunning Selda LP, maybe her 3rd record but here she dwells into more traditional waters but not less head spinning for that matter. Anatolian psych-folk loaded with electronically treated saz and other Middle Eastern instruments that collide neatly with Selda’s dervish-like singing style. The evocative instrumental backing is mesmerizingly swirling in and out of focus the whole time, resembling UC Hurel at times but now injected with female trance-inducing vocals. A killer slide to these ears. Original Turkish pressing that comes housed in a flimsy gatefold jacket. Record has some paper scuffs all over but plays excellent all the way through. Highly recommended!!!
