THE GRADING BENCHMARKS THAT I USE:-

99%-100% = MINT -  VIRTUALLY THE PERFECT ALBUM, I NEVER USE THIS GRADING BECAUSE IT DOES  NOT TAKE MUCH OF A DEFECT TO LOWER THIS LEVEL. IT IS WORTH NOTING THAT EVEN BRAND NEW  VINYL CAN STILL HAVE SMALL IMPERFECTIONS THAT WOULD LOWER THIS LEVEL AND WHEN SCRUTINIZED IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO UNDERSCORE THAN DISAPPOINT A BUYER.

81%-98% = -NM / NM    -   AT THIS LEVEL YOU WOULD EXPECT AS CLOSE TO NEW AS POSSIBLE WITH A  SEALED ALBUM AT THE UPPER END OF THE SCALE, TO CLOSE TO NEW AT THE LOWER END OF THE SCALE WITH THE ALBUM HAVING EXTREMELY LITTLE DEFECT. THE VINYL SHOULD HAVE VERY LITTLE TO CRITICISE AT THE LOWER END OF THE SCALE, IT MAY HAVE 1 OR 2 VERY FAINT HAIRLINES THAT DO NOT IN ANYWAY DETRACT FROM THE DYNAMICS.  THE COVERS AT THE LOWER END OF THE SCALE WILL STILL CLOSE TO LOOK NEW BUT MIGHT HAVE 1 OR 2 VERY SMALL BLEMISHES AND CORNERS AND EDGES MUST STILL LOOK NICE AND CRISP WITH NO CREASES. THE LABELS SHOULD STILL LOOK NEW.

60% - 80% = EXCELLENT / -NM   -  AT THIS LEVEL AND AT THE UPPER END OF THE SCALE, ONE WOULD EXPECT A USED ALBUM, BUT IN ALL RESPECTS  IT SHOULD BE AN ALBUM THAT HAS BEEN VERY WELL LOOKED AFTER WITH THE VINYL HAVING MAYBE A FEW INSIGNIFICANT HAIRLINE MARKS THAT DO NOT DETRACT MUCH AT ALL FROM THE DYNAMICS. THE COVERS ALSO WOULD HAVE LITTLE TO CRITICISE WITH MAYBE 1 OR 2 VERY INSIGNIFICANT MARKS. AT THE LOWER END OF THE SCALE THE VINYL WILL HAVE MORE HAIRLINE MARKS, THE VINYL WILL STILL LOOK NICE AND GLOSSY BUT THE MARKS MIGHT BE ENOUGH TO CAUSE SOME VERY INSIGNIFICANT LOSS TO THE DYNAMICS  WITH THE OCCASIONAL FAINT CRACKLE. THE COVERS AT THE LOWER END WILL BE STARTING TO SHOW SIGNS OF LOSING THAT NEW LOOK WITH MAYBE HAVING SOME MILD SPLINE CREASES AND SOME FAINT SURFACE RUB MARKS. THERE SHOULD BE VERY LITTLE CRITICISM EVEN AT THIS LEVEL. THE LABELS SHOULD STILL LOOK AND BE IN GREAT SHAPE WITH THE WORST CRITICISM AT THE LOWER END MAYBE A FEW TINY WEAR SPOT MARKS.

35%-59% = VG+ / -EXCELLENT  - THIS GRADING IS USED FOR AN ALBUM THAT HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN USED BUT STILL IN A CONDITION THAT IS WORTHY AS A KEEPER, IT WILL HAVE A COVER THAT MIGHT SHOW MILD TO MODERATE WEAR TO THE SURFACE, CORNERS, EDGES, SPLINE AND SLEEVE MOUTH, BUT WILL NOT HAVE MORE THAN 4 THINGS TO CRITICISE OF THE COVER AT THE UPPER END OF THE SCALE AND AT THE LOWER END THIS WILL OBVIOUSLY BE INCREASED BUT WILL STILL LOOK BETTER THAN VERY GOOD AND SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY TEARS IN THE EDGES, IT CAN HAVE 1 OR 2 THUMB TEARS IN THE SLEEVE MOUTH AT BETWEEN 35%-50%  OF MINT BUT NO TEARS OVER 55%.OF MINT. THE VINYL WILL HAVE ONLY SOME VERY LIGHT SURFACE MARKS AT THE UPPER END OF THE SCALE AND THE PLAY BACK MIGHT HAVE MAYBE 10%-20% OF THE COMBINED TRACK TIMES HAVING THE OCCASIONAL LIGHT CRACKLE INCLUDING THE CLEAR WAX SPOTS WHICH SEEM TO BE THE FIRST AREAS TO BE EFFECTED, THE LEVEL OF DYNAMICS WILL BE DECREASED AS THE SCALE BECOMES LESSER TO MAYBE 40% OF THE COMBINED TRACK TIME HAVING LIGHT CRACKLES AND A FEW CLICKS AT 35%-50% OF MINT. QUIET OFTEN THOUGH ALL THE VINYL MIGHT NEED IS A PROFESSIONAL CLEAN TO BRING THEM BACK CLOSE TO EXCELLENT AGAIN. THE LABELS SHOULD BE NICE AND CLEAN WITH ONLY A FEW VISIBLE SPINDLE MARKS AT THE LOWER END OF THE SCALE TO A FEW FAINT SPINDLE MARKS AT THE UPPER END.

25%-35% = VG / VG+      THIS LEVEL OF GRADING HAS A COVER THAT IS NOW STARTING TO SHOW SIGNS OF BEING WELL USED AT THE LOWER END OF THE SCALE, IT MAY HAVE FROM 1 UP TO 3 LIGHT EDGE OR SPLINE TEARS NO LONGER THAN 25MM LONG, MAYBE 1 SMALL SLEEVE OPENING TEAR, MILD CORNER WEAR, SMALL SPLINE OR EDGE CREASES, TRACES OF STICKER RESIDUE, MAYBE 1 SMALL INKED IN NAME, BUT ALL MANUFACTURERS PRINT SHOULD STILL BE LEGIBLE, SOMETIMES THE PRINT CAN BE EFFECTED ON THE SPLINE IF THERE IS A SMALL TEAR IN THAT LOCATION.  NO PART OF THE COVER SHOULD BE MISSING THOUGH AND THIS INCLUDES DELETION CUT OUTS, WHERE THESE ARE PRESENT THE COVER NEEDS TO BE DOWNGRADED. THE VINYL CAN HAVE SHALLOW SURFACE MARKS AND PLAY BACK WITH 50% UP TO 75% OF THE COMBINED TRACK TIME HAVING MILD TO MODERATE SURFACE NOISE AND MAYBE THE OCCASSIONAL CLICK AND POP BUT THESE SHOULD NOT BE OVERWHELMING OR HAVE ANY SKIPS OR JUMPS. THE LABELS MAY SHOW SIGNS OF RUBBING WEAR, VISIBLE SPINDLE MARKS AND MAY HAVE SOME FADING BUT SHOULD NOT BE DEFACED OR HAVE ANY STICKER MARKS OR PENNED IN NAMES

15%-25% = GOOD / VG.       THIS LEVEL OF GRADE HAS A COVER THAT WILL BE WELL WORN AND AT THE LOWER END OF THE SCALE CAN HAVE UP TO 5% OF DAMAGE HAVING SOME SPLITS AND TEARS, STICKY TAPED AREAS, SURFACE ABRASIONS, OLD PRICE TAGS MIGHT STILL BE IN PLACE AND WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN REMOVED MAY EXHIBIT A DIFFERENT AND SOMETIMES DARKER COLOUR SHADE TO THE COVER SURFACE THEY HAVE BEEN APPENDED TOO. THERE SHOULD BE NO LARGE CHUNKS OR MORE THAN 5% OF THE COVER MISSING AT THIS LEVEL. DELETION CUT OUTS SHOULD BE NO LARGER THAN A 3CM DIAGONAL CLEAN CUT FROM ANY CORNER AND ANY THING MORE, THE LEVEL SHOULD BE DOWNGRADED. THE PRINTED AREAS MAY HAVE SOME RUBBING AND FADING, THE SEAMS MAY BE UNSTUCK TO COMING UNSTUCK, THERE CAN BE A COUPLE OF PENNED IN NAMES. AT THE LOWER END OF THE SCALE THE VINYL WILL BE WELL PLAYED AND WORN, THE VINYL CAN HAVE QUIET A FEW AREAS OF MODERATE CRACKLE AND POP AND MAYBE SOME CLICKS FROM A FEW SCRATCHES BUT NO MORE THAN 1OR 2 SKIPS, AT THE UPPER END OF THE SCALE YOU WILL HAVE VINYL THAT COULD HAVE 1 SCRATCH THAT MAY CAUSE SOME BRIEF CLICKS, THERE WILL BE CRACKLES AND POPS BUT NOTHING THAT WILL BE OVERWHELMING TO MORE THAN MAYBE 10% OF THE VINYL AND YOU WILL STILL BE EXPERIENCING MILD TO MODERATE SURFACES NOISES TO UP TO 75%-80% OF THE TRACK TIME, THE LABELS MAY HAVE INTRODUCED NAMES AND WRITING AS WELL AS SOME STICKERS, MODERATE WEAR CAN BE EXPECTED BUT THE LABELS SHOULD NOT BE BADLY DEFACED AT THIS LEVEL.

5% - 14% = FAIR / -GOOD    AT THIS LEVEL YOU WILL HAVE A COVER THAT CAN BE DAMGED BY UP TO MAYBE 30% AT THE LOWER END OF THE SCALE AND MAYBE UP TO 5% AT THE TOP END OF THE SCALE, IT MAY HAVE INK STAINS OR AGE AND MOISTURE STAIN MARKS. THE VINYL WILL BE VERY WELL PLAYED WITH HEAVY SCUFFING, IT MAY HAVE SCRATCHES THAT CAUSE IT TO JUMP AND SKIP, BUT SOME OF THE VINYL SHOULD STILL BE ABLE TO BE ENJOYED EVEN THOUGH THERE WILL BE SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF THE DYNAMICS. THE LABELS MIGHT BE DEFACED BY UP TO 50%. AT THIS LEVEL AN ALBUM IS PROBABLY MORE SUITABLE AS AN INFILL THAN A PLAYER.

BELOW 5% IS POOR AND ONLY GOOD FOR THE BIN UNLESS IT IS SO RARE THAT IT COULD BE ACCEPTED AS AN INFILL.

POTENTIAL BUYERS PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU BID OR BUY

I HAVE USED MY OWN GRADING METHODS IN THE EVALUATION OF THESE ALBUMS.

MY METHODS ARE NOT ALL THAT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER REPUTABLE METHODS THAT ARE ABLE TO BE VIEWED AND EVALUATED ON LINE.

"THE GOLDMINE METHOD", IS JUST ONE OF MANY THAT I AM FAMILIAR WITH, AND HAVE USED IN THE PAST.

I HAVE BEEN A COLLECTOR OF VINYL RECORDS FOR APPROX 45 YEARS AND I UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE AS A SELLER TO PROVIDE AN HONEST AND ACURATE LISTING DESCRIPTION. I DO MY BEST TO DESCRIBE ANY DEFECTIVE DETAILS AND THIS INCLUDES BOTH VISUAL & AUDIBLE DEFECTIVE ASPECTS WHEN I HAVE PLAYED VINYL BACK BEFORE LISTING.

I HAVE RECEIVED FEEDBACK FROM 100`S OF PREVIOUS BUYERS AND THESE ARE YOUR GUARANTEE FOR BUYER SATISFACTION. I HAVE ONLY HAD A FEW DISGRUNTLED BUYERS AND THESE WERE FROM BUYERS EXPECTING MORE FOR THEIR MONEY THAN WHAT THE LISTING DESCIBED.

THIS ALBUM IS NEITHER BRAND NEW NOR IN MINT CONDITION SO PLEASE REFRAIN FROM BIDDING OR BUYING IF THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR, TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.

I HAVE GRADED THIS ALBUM AS I PERCEIVE IT TO BE AND THE GRADINGS I HAVE DERIVED AT ARE AN ASSESSMENT OF THE CONDITION BASED UPON COMPARISON OF AN ALBUM WITHOUT FAULT AND IN MINT CONDITION OR AT 100 %,THIS BEING THE BENCHMARK I HAVE USED.

ALTHOUGH THE ALBUM HAS BEEN DESCRIBED AS HONESTLY AS I CAN, IF YOU FEEL THE LISTING LACKS SOME IMPORTANT DETAIL OR I HAVE OVERLOOKED ANYTHING AND FURTHER CLARIFICATION IS WARRANTED, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BID OR BUY.

I SPEND A LOT OF TIME ASSESSING ALBUMS TO PROVIDE BIDDERS & BUYERS ALIKE WITH AN ACCURATE DESCRIPTION AND LISTING, I STRIVE TO PROVIDE A QUALITY SERVICE SO NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM ALWAYS PLEASED WHEN I RECEIVE POSITIVE FEEDBACK FOR A TRANSACTION.

I ALSO LIKE TO LEAVE POSITIVE FEEDBACK, AND I DO THIS AFTER I HAVE RECEIVED A SATISFACTORY TRANSACTION.

PAYMENT IS APPRECIATED AND REQUIRED PRIOR TO SHIPPING PROMPTLY AFTER A BUY IT NOW PURCHASE.

THE SHIPPING COST HAS P&H INCLUDED NATIONALLY FOR THIS LISTING, IT IS AT THE FLAT RATE OF $9.50 BY AUSTRALIA POST  REGULAR DELIVERY

SHIPPING IS BY INTERNATIONAL AIRMAIL WITH EXTRA COVER OR OPTIONAL AUST POST EXPRESS COURIER INTERNATIONAL, BOTH THESE METHODS OF SHIPPING HAVE TRACKING NUMBERS. PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR INVOICE COSTS BEFORE YOU BID OR BUY BECAUSE IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE. ALSO BECAUSE SOME COUNTRIES HAVE IMPOSED A SECURITY SCAN LEVY (i.e USA) THIS ADDS EVEN MORE (AROUND $9.00AUD) TO THE ALREADY HIGH COST WHERE IT IS REQUIRED. SOME COUNTRIES DO NOT PROVIDE  A POSTAL TRACKING SERVICE, UNFORTUNATELY IF YOUR COUNTRY FALLS INTO THIS CATAGORY I HAVE TO ASK YOU NOT TO BID OR BUY OR ACCEPT THE AUSTPOST EXPRESS COURIER INTERNATIONAL WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE. PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE TO BE SENT ONCE THE LISTING HAS ENDED

IMPORT DUTIES AND OR V.A.T. FOR THIS LISTED ITEM TO THE DESTINATION COUNTRY IS THE RESPONSIBILTY OF THE BIDDER / BUYER, THE AUSTRALIAN CUSTOMS DECLARATION DOCKET ATTACHED TO THE SHIPPING PACKAGE BY THE SELLER WILL DECLARE THE TOTAL SALE PRICE, NO ACCEPTIONS, PLEASE DO NOT ASK, THE REASON IS,  IT IS AN OFFENCE  INCURRING A SERIOUS CHARGE OR FINE IN AUSTRALIA WHEN ONE KNOWINGLY DECLARES A FALSE OR MISSLEADING VALUE AND / OR INFORMATION DESCRIBING GOODS ON A CUSTOMS DOCUMENT. I HAVE IN THE PAST HAD BUYERS ASK ME TO MARK "GIFT" ON THE PACKAGING, OBVIOUSLY TO EVADE PAYING DUTY TAXES,  THIS IS NOT ONLY DECEIVING AND UNTRUE BUT CAN END UP WITH THE ITEM BEING CONFISCATED IN TRANSIT AND A FINE IMPOSED ON THE SELLER. THEREFORE  IF THE BIDDER OR BUYER IS CONSIDERING A BID OR PURCHASING THIS ITEM, PLEASE CONSIDER AND BE PREPARED, IF THE ITEM BECOMES YOURS TO ALLOW FOR THE COSTS OF WHATEVER DUTIES MIGHT BE REQUIRED BY AUTHORITIES OF THE DESTINATION COUNTRY OF THIS ITEM.

I SHIP OUT WITHIN 24 BUSINESS HOURS (NOT INCLUDING WEEKENDS) AS SOON AS THE CLEARED PAYMENT ARRIVES INTO MY BANK ACCOUNT (NOT PAYPAL) IT CAN TAKE UP TO 3-8 BUSINESS DAYS TO TRANSFER FROM PAYPAL TO MY BANK ACCOUNT DEPENDING UPON THE BUYERS METHOD OF PAYMENT, ie,  E-CHEQUES USUALLY(ACCOUNT FOR THE LONGEST WAIT)  TAKE 5 BUSINESS DAYS TO CLEAR THROUGH PAYPAL AND THEN IT GENERALLY TAKES ANOTHER 3 BUSINESS DAYS TO TRANSFER FROM PAYPAL TO MY BANK ACCOUNT. IF THIS METHOD DOES NOT SUIT THE BUYER (NATIONALLY ONLY), THE BUYER CAN MAKE A DIRECT BANK DEPOSIT INTO MY BANK ACCOUNT AND IT WILL BE SHIPPED OUT TO YOU THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, PROVIDED IT HAS CLEARED. PAYPAL IS THE ONLY METHOD AVAILABLE FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS.

CLAIMING OF REFUNDS FOR PURCHASES WHEN SHIPMENTS GO MISSING (BUT THIS DOES NOT OFTEN HAPPEN, THANKFULLY)  IS FULLY REFUNDABLE, ONLY WHEN THE  SHIPMENT HAS BEEN REGISTERED AND WITH A TRACKING NUMBER. REFUNDS ARE ALWAYS SOUGHT FOR THE BUYER THROUGH AUSTRALIA POST, AND THEY ALWAYS REQUIRE A RELEVANT TRACKING NUMBER TOGETHER WITH THE AUSTRALIA POST PURCHASE DOCKET DETAILS. I KEEP THESE RELEVANT DOCKETS ON FILE UNTIL THE TRANSACTION IS SATISFACTORILY FINALISED. APPROVAL FOR REFUNDS CAN SOMETIMES TAKE UP TO 60 DAYS FOR INTERNATIONAL BUYERS, DEPENDING ON THE ZONE & LOCATION OF ITS DESTINATION. AUSTRALIA POST SETS THE GUIDLINES & ROUTINE PROCEDURES ARE IN PLACE FOR THESE INSTANCES, UNFORTUNATELY BECAUSE AUTHORITES SUCH AS THE INTERNATIONAL POSTAL UNION, TOGETHER WITH  LIASING ASSOCIATES, SEARCHES, REPORTS AND A FINAL DECISION BY AUSTRALIA POST IS REQUIRED, THIS ACTION SELDOM HAPPENS VERY FAST.

ALL LP ALBUMS ARE CAREFULLY PACKAGED IN CARBOARD MAILER BOXES,  INCLUSIVE TO THE ALBUM AND ITS CONTENTS, INSIDE THE MAILER BOX, TOP & BOTTOM CARBOARD IS ADDED TO EACH SIDE OF THE ALBUM FOR EXTRA PROTECTION, ONE GETS PLACED EACH SIDE OF THE ALBUM OVER THE BUBBLE WRAP, THIS HELPS TO RETAIN THE ALBUM AND ENSURES OPTIMUM PROTECTION IN TRANSIT FROM JOLTING. THE VINYL IS PACKED OUTSIDE OF ITS COVER SLEEVE WITHIN BUBBLE WRAP. THE REASON PACKAGING IS DONE THIS WAY IS TO  PREVENT  DAMAGE THAT A SUDDEN JOLT IN POSTAL TRANSIT MIGHT CAUSE TO THE EDGES AND SPLINE OF THE ALBUM`S COVER.

IF POSTAGE COSTS SOMETIMES SEEM MORE EXPENSIVE THAN AT OTHER TIMES, IT IS GENERALLY BECAUSE THE INNER CARDBORD REINFORCING HAS MADE THE PACKAGING OF A SLIGHTLY HEAVIER THAN NORMAL ALBUM GO OVER THE 500 GRAM MARK, TAKING AUSTRALIA POST COSTS TO THE 500-1000GRMS FEES. AND OF COURSE A DOUBLE ALBUM NEARLY ALWAYS GOES BETWEEN 500-1000GRMS

THANKS FOR LOOKING.
