BEATLES UK – Sgt Pepper LP, 1st UK issue original Mono, mis press label.

PMC 7027 – original black and yellow Parlophone labels.

A first UK Mono issue in original condition, featuring:

1. on the record label, side two there is a mis press to track five, as the word ‘BAND’ looks more like the word ‘BARN !’, see photo !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the sleeve is fully laminated. The four opening edges are in excellent condition. The spine is in very good+ condition and most of the text on the spine is readable. The original exposed two top flipbacks can be seen when the sleeve is opened. There are NO splits, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue. To the rear, centre there is a little blue pen ink.

THE INSERT: the original DARK green cardboard ‘cut-out’ is present but has had one of the cut outs… ‘cut out’ !. there is also three pieces of cello tape to each edge.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition and is the original red and white ‘wavy’ pattern sleeve. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue. There is a small ‘nick’ to one side of the opening edge and there is some splitting to the two sides and to the bottom edge and some what appears to be light water marks, here and there, otherwise quite a clean sleeve.

THE VINYL: side one is in good++ condition, side two is in very good++ condition. The vinyl is made of the period ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl, it has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are:    XEX  637 - 1      and        XEX  638 - 1,

The mother / stampers are:    ‘ 4   A R P ’  and  ‘ 3  R L H ’.

THE AUDIO: is very good, it plays with some of the usual ‘dusty’ crackle, I did hear some ‘ticks’ to the track ‘Im fixing a hole’ that started about one minute into the track and lasted for about one and a half minutes. Side two the audio is very good and again plays with some of the usual ‘dusty’ crackle. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. The letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side one. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
