JOEY LEWIS & his Orchestra:
JOEY LEWIS At The LION'S DEN
JOEVAN (JOE VAN) Records JVL 1007, distributed by Charlie's Records in Brooklyn, New York City, though the record appears to be manufactured in the Caribbean.
Great Caribbean band, with tracks in various styles including Calypso, Soul, Sokah (Soca) and a little Reggae flavor as well.
The Vinyl is VISUALLY Graded: looks VG to VG+, mainly due to less than perfect vinyl quality. There are some scuffs and finger felt marks / gouges (that track with no problem or extra noise BUT we only "spot-checked" the record), and cat claw scratches at the very intro of each side's first track. Surface noise is mostly minimal and not intrusive... it varies and depends on where the noisier vinyl is... the noisier portions and quieter portions are randomly arranged.
For the most part the sound is great, the music is great, with crisp highs, and the record was cut LOUD so the surface noise is rarely problematic for too long.
The jacket is VG with the top seam fully split, cat-claw abrasion on the opening edge, and the spine and bottom edge are neatly repaired with wide, clear package sealing tape. There are some minor nicks and minor rips, but the front cover photo is not worn. There is some yellowing on the back at the edges.
