rare label variation.

1969 PCS 7070 - Apple record labels.

An early UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. these second press record labels usually come with the regular ‘slimmer’ letter font style, but on this copy, unusually the font is the ‘fatter’ letter font style as seen on the very first press labels,

2. to the rear, bottom flipback of the main sleeve the usual printers credit line of text has not been printed on the flipback !,

3. a very early flipback sleeve with two horizontal RED lines to the rear,

4. as this is an early issue, side one of the record label features a dark green apple colour,

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near very good condition, the sleeve is laminated on the front. The spine is in very good++ condition and all the text on the spine is clear to read. Theres NO pen writing on the sleeve. There is a 25mm split to the bottom corner where it meets the opening edges and some ‘scuffing’ to the bottom edge flipback. There is some old sellotape residue to the bottom of the sleeve and some sellotape residue to the rear lower left. There is what appears to be a slight water mark to the rear, mid lower opening edge.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original EMI plain white sleeve with the text ‘Patent no 1,125,555. There are NO stains, tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE VINYL: side one is in very good condition, side two is in very good+ condition. Each side has some ‘scuff’ marks but they do not affect the audio. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl. It has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are: YEX 715 - 3 and YEX 716 - 1,

The mother/stampers are:  very early ‘1 R ’ and ‘4  M L’,

THE AUDIO: is excellent and plays with just some light ‘dusty’ static from the grooves. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in near MINT condition. As this is a very early issue side one shows a DARK Green Apple colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
