Our GRADING for pskorst (our sister 78 record ebay name) and us ( bigbillkorst ) is simplified as follows    strong V+, V+, strong V, V, weak V, V- and Poor.  A  strong V+  in my book is going be nearly flawless--or very light flaws--I rarely do a V++--a  strong V+   is going be sharp with little to very little wear.   A   strong V  (not +)  may have light scratches--nothing significant--no digs here. I suggest trying one of our strong V records or better to get an idea of where my grading is at-- I am very aware of hair cracks, rim chips that affect grooves (and will spot them) and will mention anything that (rule of thumb) you can feel with your finger nail.  Luckily my eye sight is good up close so I strive to have very consistent grading. Packing  We ship these antique, fragile shellac records in cardboard squares surrounded by padding, floating inside a 12" x 12" x 6" box. We have had less then 5 problems with damage on 1600+ records shipped so far.  Peter

78RPM Victor 22938 Duke Ellington, v- Sonny Grear, Dinah / Bugle Call Rag, v- Cootie Williams  V   This circa 1932 record is in V   condition with  scratches/blemishes/scuffs--mostly wear--no big scratches.    Graded visually.  Spindle holes and labels have some wear--the picture- looks awful on Dinah label-it  is definately worn but not horrible.   Will be in a heavy paper sleeve. PS We grade our records rather conservatively, and ship them snuggly in 2- 10 1/2" x 10 1/2" cardboard inserts, surrounded by newspaper, inside a 12" x 12" x 6" box, order with confidence. Dear customers:  July 20th, 2012 marks the first time I am not top rated since the program began.  I have averaged close to a perfect 5 stars in all categories since it began based on ratings from you.  You had nothing to do with this change in my rating, it is because ebay has decided a seller must put tracking numbers on 90% of items shipped.  70% of the items I sell goes in a 3x5 envelope with 45 cents postage.  To do the tracking number means everything I sell would have to go at the package postage rate which is a minimum of 1.95.  Either I absorb this extra cost or I pass it on to you-for a service I have almost never been asked for-because I ship quickly.  Passing it on would mean adding $1.50 to the price on most items I sell resulting in higher prices for you.  In addition ebay makes more in fees because final values would increase.  I have chosen-at least for now-to do neither.  I hope you will continue and/or consider purchasing my items despite not being "top rated".  I thank you for your past and future business.
