CONDITION
SLEEVE: (VG) FRONT LAMINATED PATENTS PENDING 'MID SIZED STEREO' SLEEVE PRINTED AND MADE BY GARROD & LOFTHOUSE HAS LIGHT WEAR FROM USE AND STORAGE WITH A FEW LAMINATE CREASES TO THE FRONT AND DISCOLOURATION AND STAINING IN PLACES TO THE BACK. SMOOTH EDGES WITH ISOLATED SCUFFING (VIRTUALLY NONE!!). LIGHT CORNER RUBBING. NO RIPS & NO SPLITS. NO WRITING. NO STICKERS.
SPINE: (EX+) THE SPINE IS UNDAMAGED WITH ALL THE TEXT FULLY READABLE WITH DISCOLOURATION AND STAINING FROM AGE. LIGHT RUBBING TO TOP & BOTTOM CORNERS. NO SPLITS.
INNER: (EX-) ORIGINAL 'USE EMITEX' FROSTED POLYLINED INNER HAS YELLOWING FROM AGE AND STORAGE WITH A FEW CREASES. NO SPLITS NO RIPS NO WRITING AND NO STICKERS.
INSERT: (G+) ORIGINAL PARLOPHONE ADVERTISING INSERT HAS NO REAL DAMAGE BUT IS HEAVILY CREASED FROM STORAGE. YOU RARELY SEE! NO SPLITS NO RIPS NO WRITING AND NO STICKERS.
LABELS: SIDE 1 (VG-) SIDE 2 (VG) BOTH LABELS HAVE A FEW LIGHT SPINDLE MARKS AROUND THE CENTRE HOLE WITH A RADIAL SCUFF NEAR THE TOP OF THE LABEL ON SIDE 1 AND THE NAME 'FRANCES' WRITTEN IN BLUE /BLACK BIRO(SEE PICTURES). I AM TOLD THIS COULD BE REMOVED BUT I AM NOT CONVINCED AND WOULDN'T RISK IT! THE ONLY POSITIVE THING ABOUT THE WRITING IS THAT IT IS ON THE BLACK PART OF THE LABEL AND IS NOT OBVIOUS UNLESS YOU ANGLE THE LABEL IN LIGHT (SEE PICTURES).
VINYL VISUALLY: (VG) THE VINYL IS COMPLETELY FLAT AND GLOSSY AND WHEN ANGLED UNDER BRIGHT LIGHT BOTH SIDES HAVE A FEW LIGHT PAPER SCUFFS AND SOME THIN LONG HAIRLINES. YOU CAN ALSO SEE NUMEROUS STAINS ON BOTH SIDES - ALMOST LIKE BAG RASH. THESE MARKS DON'T APPEAR TO COME OFF WITH A GENTLE WIPE USING A SPECIALIST RECORD CLEANING CLOTH BUT MAY DISAPPEAR IF THE VINYL WAS PROFESSIONAL MACHINE CLEANED. THESE MARKS ARE NOT OBVIOUS AND LUCKILY DO NOT AFFECT THE SOUND IN ANY WAY!
PLAYING GRADE: (EX+) BOTH SIDES HAVE BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO ON BEYER-DYNAMIC DT-150 HEADPHONES ON A COUPLE OF SYSTEMS WITH A SHURE WHITE LABEL CARTRIDGE & STEREO NEEDLE & BOTH SIDES PLAY AT LEAST EXCELLENT WITH THE MAJORITY PLAYING EXCELLENT PLUS IF NOT HIGHER!! NO ISSUES AND ONLY VERY OCCASIONAL LIGHT BACKGROUND STATIC/CRACKLE IN PLACES ON BOTH SIDES AND VERY OCCASIONALLY IN THE GAPS IN THE MUSIC BUT IT IS HARDLY NOTICEABLE BECAUSE THE MUSIC IS SO CLEAN AND LOUD! I NOTICED A LIGHT POP NEAR THE END OF 'YOU CAN'T DO THAT' BUT THAT'S IT! NO DISTORTION.THIS VINYL HAS BEEN STORED UNTOUCHED FOR OVER 40 YEARS SO MAY BENEFIT FROM A PROFESSIONALLY MACHINE CLEANED. I AM BEING HIGHLY CRITICAL AND MY PLAY GRADE IS ALWAYS BASED ON WHAT I CAN HEAR ON BEYER-DYNAMIC DT-150 HEADPHONES WITH THE TREBLE TURNED UP FULL! EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO FIND IN ANY CONDITION ESPECIALLY AS A GENUINE EARLIEST STEREO UK 1ST PRESSING! THE PRODUCTION ON THIS ALBUM IS SIMPLY AWESOME AND IS FAR SUPERIOR TO ANY DIGITAL REMASTER OR VINYL REPRESSING. THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THE AUDIO COMPARED TO THE MONO VERSION - YOU CAN HEAR SO MUCH MORE DETAIL AND CLARITY! A PRESENTABLE AND HIGHLY PLAYABLE COPY OF AN INCREASINGLY RARE BEATLES CLASSIC NOT TO BE MISSED!!
EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO FIND IN ANY CONDITION!!
DON`T MISS OUT ON THIS!!
GRADING
All records are graded using the Record Collector Grading System with (+) or (-) to show a slightly higher or lower grade.
M (Mint) : The Record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EX (Excellent): The Record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VG (Very Good) : The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
G (Good) : The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
F (Fair) : The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
