I was going through the warehouse recently and found a few cases of brand new back issues of Devil In The Woods Magazine (complete with unplayed bonus 7" records and Polyvinyl CD samplers)! These magazines are about 10 years old but were sitting sealed in their original shipping containers. This version of the magazine is pretty rare since the 7" records were only sent to the first 777 subscribers and were not avaliable with the news stand or record store versions. Each 7" is hand numbered and features exclusive songs that do not appear on CD, LP or MP3 formats, this was the only way to hear them. The magazine itself was awesome! It covered the indie rock universe just before a lot of these bands exploded and started seeing MTV play and chart action. Oh those innocent days, when the mention of Modest Mouse, The Shins, Arcade Fire, etc would draw puzzled looks even on a college campus.
This issue features a cover story on Modest Mouse and features on Franz Ferdinand, TV On The Radio, Dizzee Rascal, Clouddead, The Magnetic Fields and more! This bonus 7" features unreleased songs by The Get Up Kids (Wouldn't Believe It - Live) and Volcano I'm Still Excited!! (TrunkOf My Car - Demo Version).
