CONDITIONS
VINYL
This is the original thicker, heavier chunky slab of vinyl, only found like this on the earliest 1st original pressings, from the earliest period of 1960s. (Later press are much more flimsier and less robust). It has remained very dark and with all their original high gloss finish fully intact and ‘looks’ as if it has received little play. Both playing surfaces are graded NEAR MINT. This is superior ultra clean copy, which looks like has received few play's & been extremely well looked after... There are two slight traces, one on each sides, which naturally have no impact on the reproduction of brilliant sound. So, the vinyl itself is
in excellent visual condition, glossy surface in result, that it has been most
probably stored and played very carefully. Also there is a couple minor traces of insertion and removal of records
from the bag, they usually has and best preserved records of
the inner sleeve use. The record lays flat on the turntable. Certainly top-class ORIGINAL MONO COPY 1ST PRESS from 1964. NEAR MINT condition!
PLEASE NOTE, This vinyl was pressed on the EMI on old machines press. IT’S NOT CBS PRESSING, as many people think! THIS IS EMI PRESSING! To
date only three Beatles albums have been found in this variation and they’re A
Hard Day’s Night, Rubber Soul and Revolver.
AUDUO: Precise EXCELLENT! On both sides of the vinyl it plays fantastic from start to finish, crystal, clear deep MONO sound with NO any
deterioration. NO skips/jumps, NO repeats! There is occasionally between some songs very light clicks, most probably 'static' reason. Without any hesitation the sound quality is better than EXCELLENT(+)!
SLEEVE COVER
The RARE front laminated 'Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London' sleeve, with middle 'mono' on front, is fully intact and clear, with only few minor light laminate stress lines on the front high gloss picture. A hard to find very early issue sleeve with thin ‘paper’ flipbacks with ‘square ends’, made by 'Ernest J. Day & Co.' (regular 'Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.' sleeves and later 'Ernest J. Day & Co.' sleeves had conventional thicker ‘card’ flipbacks with ‘rounded’ ends.), showing
light signs of wear in some places of the edge and input. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the front sleeve. The Spine is in excellent(+) condition and has remained an excellent clean, fresh white and all the text on the spine is clear to read. EXCELLENT condition. ( see pics.)
The rear of the sleeve has remained an excellent clean, fresh white in colour. Has the period thrее flipback design. These earliest known ‘Ernest J. Day’ paper flipbacks are known to be fragile and can ‘snag’ and tear easily, but on this sleeve the flipbacks are all excellent and undamaged. The rear cover panel has inscription 'Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London' at the bottom right. Rear of the sleeve is strong, but with two signs and a mark on the rear panel. VERY GOOD (+) condition, because of the names and the mark from removed sticker. ( see pics.)
LABELS
Both sides are graded EXCELLENT. Labels are Yellow Parlophone with silver
print Type 4 label, First pressing 1964, Variant A! Black label with yellow logo and
silver print. "THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD. (capital letter)" was printed at the perimeter. "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1964" statement were printed on the label. "SOLD IN U.K. SUBJECT TO RESALE PRICE CONDITIONS, SEE PRICE LISTS." statement was printed at the center of the label. This notice appears on the labels of every UK market EMI product, from very early 1964, right through mid-1969. Tax code "K and T" letters were embossed (Side 1). This label has a chubby printing type. Labels
are clear, all the silver, yellow/black indications are in excellent conditions. There are couple of very light traces from the turntable spindle. On Side 1 there is a small round black/red brand recognition mark. NO any corrections. EXCELLENT conditions. (see pics.)
INNER SLEEVE
Original "USE EMITEX" Sleeve Type-2 (1963 - ?). Polythene-lined "USE EMITEX" die-cut type. This sleeve was made in a thinner material than type-1. The words "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" and "MADE IN ENGLAND" were printed at the bottom of the front sleeve. Inner is in EXCELLENT(-) condition and is the original period EMI ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. An excellent clean, fresh and no creased sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean and very light worn. At several places from inside has met inconspicuously strengthening as prevention against subsequent tears. Theres NO pen writing, stains, tears, splits or stickers. EXCELLENT(-) condition.
This original Beatles LP is becoming
a very pleasant for listening and very rare, very collectible, particularly in such perfect condition.
Please see the photos, which are also part of the condition description.
