BEATLES UK – A Hard Days Night, ‘McCarthey’ mis press, original UK mono LP.

PMC 1230 – original black and yellow Parlophone labels.

A UK LP in original condition, featuring:

1. a hard to find mis press mono label on side one, as the spelling of the song writing credit for ’McCartney’ has been mis spelt as ‘McCarthey’, with an ‘h’ and not an ‘n’ !, the label on side two is spelt correctly. Only a very small number of these mis press labels were printed,

2. a hard to find mono label variant as these labels use the ‘Roman’ font letter style,

3. side two, on the record, unusually an addition letter ‘A’ has been stamped for the ‘stampers’, but then it has been ‘crossed out !’.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the front is laminated, this laminate has remained very glossy. The spine is in very good++ condition and all the text is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipback design. Theres NO pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. To each of the opening edges there are some signs of a slight water mark.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original period ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean and unworn. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve. One of the side edges has just started to split and there are some light age related marks to one side of the sleeve. On one side there is a slight water mark.

THE RECORD: is in very good++ condition, the record is made from the original 1960s, thick heavy vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are: XEX 481 3N and XEX 482 3N,

The mother / stampers are: ‘8 A L D’ and ‘4 A P A’, on side two, there is unusually an addition letter ‘A’ that has been ‘crossed out !’.

THE AUDIO: is very good++, it plays with some light crackle, and I did hear some light ‘ticks’ on side two, track five, for a short while. The record would benefit from a professional clean to improve the audio, as the playing surfaces are so clean. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in very good++ condition. The letters ‘K T’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side two. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
