1969 PCS 7088 - Apple record labels.

A UK very first issue from September 1969, in original condition, featuring:

1. a mis aligned apple logo mis press on the rear of the sleeve,

2. comes with its original ‘Apple’ black inner sleeve,

3. as this is a very first UK issue, the record label on side one shows a dark green Apple colour,

4. the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed on the record label or on the rear of the sleeve, but this track plays on the record !.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition, the sleeve is laminated front and rear. The sleeve is one of the best condition sleeves I have seen for a long time. The sleeve has an excellent glossy, quality laminate that is relatively free from any ‘scuffing’ or any ‘indentations’. The four corners of the sleeve have remained clean and sharp. The original ‘thin’ spine is in excellent++ condition and has remained clean, white and straight and all the text on the spine is clear to read. As this is a very first UK issue of this album it features the Apple logo on the rear of the sleeve, misaligned, to the left !. EMI were quick to correct this and very soon the sleeves were changed and the apple logo was correctly aligned with the songs listing. There are NO stains, pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent+ condition and is the original ‘apple’ black inner sleeve. These original ‘Apple’ black inner sleeves are known to be very ‘fragile’, but this sleeve has been very well preserved. The two opening edges have remained clean for its age. There are NO tears, splits, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve.

THE RECORD: side one is in near excellent condition, side two is in excellent condition. The record is made from the quality 1960s, period, thick heavy vinyl. It has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are: YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘5 G G H’ and ‘7 G D H’.

THE AUDIO: side one plays excellent, it plays with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there, but overall it plays with relatively quiet grooves. Side two plays excellent+, again it plays with some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there, but overall it plays with relatively quiet grooves. The record plays with an excellent, full loud clear quality period stereo sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in excellent condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
