Art Pepper The Artistry Of Art Pacific Jazz PJ 60 mono black and silver label
Art Pepper (as) w/ bands inc. Chet Baker (t), Bill Perkins, Phil Urso (ts), Carl Perkins, Jimmy Rowles, Russ Freeman (p), Ben Tucker, Leroy Vinnegar (b) Shelly Manne, Lawrence Marable (d) Recorded 1956, 1957
Black and silver label with "shallow groove" on both sides. "Hollywood California" address on back cover.
Record looks and plays a superb, clean and quiet M-. No scuffs, no scratches and no marks. No wear visible and grooves look bright, glossy and undamaged. Record looks unplayed or nearly so. A beautiful copy.
Cover is strong VG++.
A hard cover to grade. The front cover is super shiny and glossy and with light wear at the bottom and a small discoloration at the top from a sticker. The laminate is buckling in two strips across the front. It looks like a manufacturing defect to me. Back cover is bright and clean with little or no wear. No split seams. All corners tight and sharp. Spine is bright and readable. If not for the laminate buckling, I'd call it M-.
I WILL BE RUNNING WEEKLY AUCTIONS OF 50s and 60s JAZZ LPS INC BLUE NOTE 1500s PRESTIGE NYCs TRANSITIONS ETC. MANY WEEKS AND SOME HIGH END ITEMS TO COME.
My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied. No hassles.
