THE DAVE CLARK FIVE - 5 BY 5 - 14 TITLES 1964-69

INCREDIBLE PRISTINE VINYL

 1969 ORIGINAL MONO PRESSING

CATALOGUE: COLUMBIA SX 6309

MATRIX:XAX 3742-1 / 3743-1

MOTHERS/STAMPERS: 1 P / 1 A

I WILL START WITH A NOTE ABOUT THE SLEEVE ON THIS SET BECAUSE IT REALLY SHOULD BE AS MINT AS THE VINYL. HOWEVER AT SOME POINT IT HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO SOME MOISTURE, WHICH HAS CAUSED A LIGHT RIPPLE EFFECT TO THE CARD. NO REALLY VISIBLE BY FEELABLE FOR SURE. I WOULD STRESS THAT THE SLEEVE HAS NOT BEEN STOOD IN WATER OR HAD WATER SPILLED ON IT AS THERE ARE NO STAINS ON THE COVER. OTHER THAN THIS IS IS ABSOLUTELY AS NEW

THE RECORDS

THE LABELS

THE JET BLACK BASE COLOUR IS AS GOOD AS ANY I HAVE EVER SEEN. NO MARKS OR STAINS. THE BLUE COLUMBIA LOGO IS ALSO PERFECT AND THE SILVER TYPEFACE JUST IMMACULATE. THERE IS ONE TINY LITTLE SPIDER LINE BY THE HOLE ON SIDE ONE

THE VINYL

THE VINYL IS JUST SPECTACULAR. GLEAMING SURFACE THAT LOOKS AS GOOD TODAY AS IT DID BACK WHEN PRESSED IN 1969. EVEN WHEN PLACED UNDER INTENSE ILLUMINATION THERE ARE ONLY A COUPLE OF NON SOUNDING WISPS

PLAYING THE RECORD

I BELIEVE THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO SPEND YOUR MONEY ON A FANTASTIC COLLECTIBLE VINYL, THAT YOU SHOULD BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR WHAT YOU ARE BUYING. I HAVE THEREFORE INVESTED IN THE SOFTWARE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO DO JUST THAT.

I HAVE RECORDED THE ENTIRE LP FROM START TO FINISH AS I NOW DO WITH ALL MY LISTINGS BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT BIDDERS WOULD LOVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE ABLE TO HEAR THE RECORD BEFORE LAYING A BID. THIS IS A SERVICE I AM DELIGHTED TO BE ABLE TO OFFER MY CUSTOMERS

THE FIRST THING TO POINT OUT IS THAT THE RECORDS PLAY WITHOUT DISTORTION CAUSED BY GROOVE WEAR.

THE DISC PLAYS SUPERBLY, AND I WOULD URGE YOU TO TAKE A LISTEN IN PARTICULAR TO THE QUIET TRACKS TO HEAR THE CLARITY OF THE SOUND.

THE LINKING GROOVES ARE SILENT, AND THE RICH MONO SOUND IS CRYSTAL CLEAR AND REPRODUCES AS A 1ST PRESS SHOULD

IN ADDITION TO THERE BEING NO BACKGROUND CRACKLE, AND NO LOUD CLICKS OR POPS, THERE IS ALSO NO EMBEDDED VINYL NOISE EITHER

I SIT NO MORE THAN 12 INCHES FROM MY SPEAKERS AS I TYPE THIS OUT WHILST LISTENING TO THE ALBUM, AND I THEREFORE DETECT EVERY LITTLE NOISE, FAR MORE SO THAT IF I WAS SITTING AT NORMAL LISTENING RANGE AS YOU WILL IF YOU WIN IT

NO STATIC, NO POPS OR CLICKS AND NO TICS OR EVEN DUST POPS, JUST A PERFECT SOUND

I DON'T BELIEVE THAT THIS COULD SOUND ANY CLEANER AND I HAVE TO DESCRIBE THE AUDIO REPRODUCTION AS VERY VERY CLOSE TO A MINT GRADE

PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT THOUGH, TAKE A GOOD LISTEN AND JUDGE FOR YOURSELF

THE SLEEVE

AS MENTIONED ABOVE, THIS SLEEVE HAS SUSTAINED A LITTLE RIPPLING BUT OTHER THAN THIS IT IS JUST AS NEW

THE FRONT SURFACE IS TOTALLY CLEAN.

THE RIPPLING HAS CAUSED THREE SMALL LINES AGAINST THE SPINE. NONE ALONG THE TOP EDGE, NONE ALONG THE BOTTOM EDGE, AND NO THUMB LINES NEAR THE OPENING EDGE

THE TOP AND BOTTOM EDGES BOTH HAVE ONLY A COUPLE OF TINY PIN PRICKS OF RUB TO THEM

THE SPINE HAS PRISTINE AND UNRUBBED TYPEFACE

THE REAR SURFACE IS VERY BIT AS CLEAN AND TIDY AS THE FRONT.THE FLIP BACKS ARE PERFECTLY ADHERED, AND THE BLACK SURFACE IS ABSOLUTELY MARK FREE

THE ADVERTISING INNER SLEEVE IS MINT, AND CLEARLY HAS NOT BEEN AFFECTED BY THE MOISTURE THAT RIPPLED THE OUTER COVER. IT IS HIGHLY LIKELY THAT THE RECORD AND INNER WERE AWAY FROM THE SLEEVE AT THE TIME THE COVER WAS SUBJECTED TO THE MOISTURE

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BID IF YOU CHOSE TO GO FOR IT
