DESCRIPTION:

This is the first copy of QRS 9020 by Archie Chumbler's group to surface.  Not listed in Russell's Country Music Records or on the 78 discographical website.  As noted above, it fills in a pair of matrices for the April 1929 session.  Minstrel style comedy dialogue on the road from Atlanta to New York with bluesy background guitar by (probably) Hoke Rice on part 1.  Part 2 starts in the same mode, but quickly breaks into and finishes with Hoke Rice singing a blues song with guitar punctuated by some wisecracks by Archie's gang.  Only known copy to the best of my knowledge.  Music clear with some occasional crackle from small scratches.
