DESCRIPTION: 

Lil Johnson made two Vocalions in 1929, then disappeared from the recording studio until 1935. These early Vocalions feature the sparsely recorded Chicago barrelhouse piano player Charles Avery, whose only solo side is the excellent "Dearborn Street Breakdown"on Paramount.   Avery is also given a long solo spot here to showcase his keyboard wizardry on "You'll Never Miss Your Jelly Till Your Jelly Rollers Gone".  Light rub spot on label "Never..." side (see pic).  From the Ken Swerilas collection.
