Julian Cope presents
20 MOTHERS: Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness

Original 1995 Echo Double LP, purple vinyl in gatefold sleeve
For all your 'drudes' out there, this is the Arch-Drude, Saint Julian, at his most lovably eccentric. 20 tracks of "love songs, devotional songs, surrender songs - things for anyone and everyone who can still FEEL something". Complete with small glossy booklet written by Cope with notes about each track, some poems, various quotes and general musings about the state of the world (photos 6 & 7).   IMPORTANT! Condition: The cover is in excellent condition with just a few scuffs on the corners.  Vinyl is in good condition with just some light surface marks. Sides 1, 2 and 3 all play fine with just the usual crackles here and there in the quieter sections. Unfortunately there is an issue with side 4 which has some loud pops and jumps in a few places, most noticeably on 'Cryingbabiessleeplessnights' and 'Road of Dreams'. I've looked over it several times with a magnifying glass under a bright light and I really can't see or feel any marks or scratches that would account for the amount it jumps, so I'm mystified as to why it's like this. I've never had this problem before as I take good care of my vinyl, and can't have played the album more than a couple of times. Maybe it's a pressing fault? If there are any vinyl experts out there who can offer any advice or suggestions, I'm all ears!
