Grading Scale

MINT  -  Still sealed or at the least never played.  I will not list anything unsealed as Mint unless I am the original owner and I know it has never been played.

NEAR MINT - Not a grade I give lightly.  The record must look and play like new with only the very slightest sign of use.  Jackets must also look new with perhaps only slight corner bumps from the shrink wrap.  Any inner sleeves or inserts must also look new.

EXCELLENT - The Record can have only very minimal signs of use such as 2 or 3 very light hairlines per side and must play with only very minimal background noise.  Labels must be very clean with only very slight spindle wear.  Jackets must also have only very minimal signs of wear.  This is generally the highest grade I will give on a record that i did not purchase new.

VERY GOOD +  -  Record will have more noticeable, light flaws but nothing that can be felt with a fingernail or that will cause loud noise.  I will grade a record with a very, very slight dish warp that does not affect play as VG+ if the record looks to be Near Mint otherwise. The record should play cleanly with only very light, occasional background noise.  Labels might have a bit of light spindle or storage wear or a bit of clean writing or marks.  Jackets may have some minor shelf wear.  A bit of edge wear, ring wear, a small bit of writing, loss of gloss, small stickers, small partial bottom seam splits or light creases or corner bumps might be present but only two or three of these flaws will be present before it dips down to VG.  Overall, records graded VG+ will be very nice, solid copies.

VERY GOOD   - Record will have noticeable signs of use and wear but will play through well without heavy noise. Labels may have a a bit more wear or writing.  Jackets will have several of the flaws mentioned above present. Seam splits might be a bit bigger but not an entire split. I DO NOT GRADE TRASH AS VG.  Many of the records in my personal collection are VG and I enjoy them often.

GOOD or GOOD +   -  Record will have very heavy wear but will play through without skips but will play with heavy noise.  I generally will not list anything that I grade this low unless it is a very rare record.  If a record will not play it is trash and I will not list it.  Jackets will have very heavy wear or complete seam splits.  I am a bit more liberal listing jackets when they are in this condition if the record itself is in good shape but any heavy damage will be noted in the listing.

Thanks for looking!
