From the collection of a noted Australian rock’n’roll and entertainment historian comes this great piece of 1960s retro OZ Rock history. The Nomads: Good Times and Don’t You Fret. 1967. Test pressing. Australia. EMI. 1967 7XAPA.1280 & 7XAPA.1281. Released on the Parlaphone label in April 1967. This was the second single; the first, If You Let Me / It’s Alright, was released in November 1966. The Nomads were a Sydney band fronted by Gus McNeil, who went on to become a renowned producer in the 1970s. At one point, The Nomads was known as Gus And The Nomads. McNeil also established the Generation record label in 1969, best known for Company Caine’s debut album, A Product Of A Broken Reality (1971). McNeil’s Cellar Music publishing roster included Greg Quill and Mike Rudd. The Good Times / Don’t You Fret test pressing is in Very Good Plus condition, appears lightly played, maybe even unplayed. There’s the very slightest edge warp, which is only visible playing the Good Time side and certainly doesn’t affect play. Plain paper sleeve in Very Good Plus condition. Check my other auctions for rarities and extremities across all genres including Australian and International jazz, rock’n’roll, rock and heavy metal, including some RARE test pressings of obscure (and unknown) 1960s Australian garage bands.
