From the collection of a noted Australian rock’n’roll and entertainment historian comes this great one-of-a-kind piece of 1960s Australian garage rock history. The D-Coys (listed as the Decoys): Come Running To Me and I Don’t Want. RARE TEST PRESSING. Australia. EMI. 1965. Catalogue numbers: Come Running To Me 7MA.3571 & 7XCT.2239. I Don’t Want 7MA.3572 & 7XCT.2240. NOTE: This test pressing mistakenly names the D-Coys as The Decoys; there is evidence to suggest that Columbia’s first run of singles in September 1965 continued the mistake until a subsequent repressing amended the error. Come Running To Me & I Don’t Want was the first of three singles of the garage band from Elizabeth, South Australia. This was released on the Columbia label in 1965. The record is dusty/dirty from storage but in Very Good Plus condition. It appears very lightly played although there’s a visible scuff across the beginning of Come Running To Me, which doesn’t affect play. Plain paper sleeve. Check my other auctions for rarities and extremities across all genres including Australian and International jazz, rock’n’roll, rock and heavy metal, including some RARE test pressings of obscure (and unknown) 1960s Australian garage bands.
