The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. They became regarded as the greatest and most influential act of the rock era. Their enormous popularity emerged as "Beatlemania", and in 1964 they had become international stars leading the "British Invasion" into the US market. "Revolver" is their seventh album, released in 1966. It was The Beatles final recording project before retirement as live performers. The songs reflect the influence of psychedelic drugs such as LSD. It's release in the US coincided with The Beatles final concert tour, and John Lennon's press remark that the band had become 'more popular than Jesus'. Many music critics recognize "Let It Be" as The Beatles' best album.
