BEATLES UK, Abbey Road LP, first issue UK 1969, mis aligned apple logo sleeve.

PCS 7088, original first issue UK 1969 ‘dark green’ apple record label.

A first issue UK 1969 album in original condition, featuring:

1. the first issue UK 1969 sleeves of this album were ‘mis pressed’ with a ‘mis aligned’ apple logo. The apple logo was printed too far over to the left !, EMI were quick to correct this and very soon the sleeves were corrected to show the apple logo correctly aligned with the track listing,

2. first issue UK 1969 record matrix of: YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,

3. first issue UK 1969 ‘dark green’ apple colour record label on side one,

4. the track ‘Her Majesty’ is not printed on the record label and not printed on the rear of the sleeve, but this track plays on the album !,

5. comes with its original rare period plain white ‘hybrid’ EMI inner sleeve.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition. This is one of the nicest condition sleeves I have seen for a long time. The sleeve is laminated front and rear, the laminate has an excellent glossy, quality finish to it and is free from any ‘indentations’. The original period ‘thin’ spine is in excellent+ condition and has remained clean, white and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The four corners of the sleeve have remained sharp. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained sharp. Theres are NO pen writing, splits, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent++ condition and is the original period plain white EMI inner sleeve, but is a more unusual ‘hybrid’ inner sleeve. The ‘hybrid’ inner sleeve is a ‘cross’ between a, ‘Patent Nos’ and a ‘Patents applied for’ inner sleeve, as the four corners are ‘rounded’ like a ‘Patent Nos’ inner sleeve but it has the text, ‘Patent applied for’ printed on it. The two opening edges have remained very clean. An excellent, unusual period ‘hybrid’ inner sleeve that has remained very clean, white and un creased. The inner sleeve is made of the period, quality heavy grade paper and has a textured surface on the inside. There are NO tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve.

THE RECORD: side one is in excellent++ condition. Side two is in excellent+ condition. The record is made from the quality period, 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.

The matrix are: YEX 749 - 2 and YEX 750 - 1,

The mother / stampers are: ‘5 MRH’ and ‘8 ADO’.

THE AUDIO: each side plays excellent+, each side plays with some light ‘crackle’. Each side plays with a full powerful period, stereo sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: each record label is in near MINT condition. As this is a first issue UK copy from 1969, side one shows a dark green ‘apple’ colour. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
