For auction is DUKE ELLINGTON & JOHNNY HODGES' "Side By Side" on Verve MG V-8345 MONO, DG, 1960. With Harry Edison, Jo Jones, Ben Webster, Roy Eldridge, others.

SOUND: NM-

It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. The playback is clean, clear, brilliant! Hard to imagine how it could sound any better!

VINYL: NM-

Visually, the vinyl is gorgeous! It's glossy and clean, with no marks of any significance. Newish looking! Black/silver Verve "trumpeter" labels, very clean, with deep grooves. The runouts are etched: "MGV-8345-A 50,864 // MGV-8345-B 50,865"

COVER: VG+

The cover is very nice! The only thing that keeps it from grading higher is, a 1-inch split in the top/right corner to the slit, and a half-inch tear top/center edge. All the rest of the edges and spine are solid, straight, and clean. The corners too, are very nice. Both front and back covers are clean and unmarked, with minimal wear or aging.

The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.

A gorgeous copy that sounds brilliant! No reserve, bidding starts at $25.

Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.

Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.

If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material.  Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
