For auction is THELONIOUS MONK's "Five By Monk By Five," on Riverside RLP 12-305, MONO, DG, 1959. With Thad Jones, Charlie Rouse, Sam Jones and Art Taylor.

SOUND: NM-

It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Playback was brilliant, just excellent. Only caveats are the tiniest bit of surface noise here or there; and 3 quick, tiny tics is B1, "I Mean You." Overall awesome playback! Unless you must have a mint record, you won't be disappointed.

VINYL: NM-

There may be a couple very faint scuffs, barely visible under bright light. Totally superficial. Otherwise, pretty darn nice.  The small blue "mike-n-reel" labels are beautiful!

JACKET: NM

The jacket is outstanding. The edges and spine are solid, straight and clean. Three corners are sharp, the upper right just a tiny bit worn. The front cover is clean and unmarked, with only a touch of minimal, routine wear. The back is very clean and bright. There is a faded stamp lower right corner (probably a promo.) Beautiful jacket!

The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.

If this record was any cooler, I'd pack it in dry ice. No reserve, bidding starts at $50.

Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.

Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.

If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material.  Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
