THE RECORD

THE LABELS

THE  JET BLACK LABELS ARE IN FAIR CONDITION. THE BASE COLOUR IS INTERRUPTED BY SOME WEAR AT THE SPINDLE HOLE. I SUSPECT AT SOME POINT THIS HAS SPENT MANY PLAYS ON THE AUTOCHANGER SYSTEM OF THE 60'S

AND THE SILVER TYPEFACE IS BOTH UNRUBBED AND PERFECTLY LEGIBLE. .THERE IS A PAIR OF INITIALS ON SIDE ONE IN THE £ SYMBOL AREA.

EVIDENCE OF A LOT OF PLAY AROUND THE SPINDLE HOLE AS THERE ARE NUMEROUS LITTLE SPIDER LINES VISIBLE - BUT LISTEN TO THE SOUNDBITES TO HEAR JUST HOW NICE THIS SOUNDS

THE VINYL

A TESTAMENT TO THE INCREDIBLE QUALITY VINYL OF THE 60'S IS THAT IT CAN WITHSTAND MARKS AND SURFACE LINES AND STILL SOUND AMAZING, NEVER WOULD HAPPEN WITH A 70'S VINYL. SO INITIAL INSPECTION IN DAYLIGHT REVEALS A VERY GLOSSY ALBUM THAT SHOWS A FEW LIGHT SURFACE DULL LINES. WHEN PLACED UNDER INTENSE ILLUMINATION THERE ARE NUMEROUS TINY WISPY HAIRLINES, SURFACE HANDLING LINES AND A COUPLE OF LIGHT SCRATCHES.

I HAVE TAKEN MY USUAL DAYLIGHT PICTURES WHICH HARDLY SHOW ANY BLEMISHES, BUT ALSO ONE PICTURE AS BEST I COULD MANAGE UNDER A SPOTLIGHT SHOWING THE SURFACE LINES

PLAYING THE RECORD

I BELIEVE THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO SPEND YOUR MONEY ON A FANTASTIC COLLECTIBLE VINYL, THAT YOU SHOULD BE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR WHAT YOU ARE BUYING. I HAVE THEREFORE INVESTED IN THE SOFTWARE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO DO JUST THAT.

I HAVE RECORDED THE ENTIRE ALBUM FROM START TO FINISH AS I DO WITH ALL MY LISTINGS, AS I JUST KNOW THAT BIDDERS WOULD WELCOME THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE ABLE TO HEAR THE RECORD BEFORE LAYING A BID, THIS IS A SERVICE I AM DELIGHTED TO OFFER MY CUSTOMERS

AS SIDE ONE STARTS THERE IS SOME NASTY HISSING WHICH LASTS FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS, PROBABLY CAUSED BY A WORN OR HEAVY STYLUS. THIS THANKFULLY ONLY LASTS A LITTLE WHILE AND AFTER THAT THERE IS NO MORE ON EITHER SIDE

THE LINKING GROOVES ARE NEAR SILENT AND REALLY SHOWS HOW THE 60'S VINYLS STAND UP TO THE TEST OF TIME

SO WHAT WILL YOU HEAR WHEN YOU LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM

NO LOUD CLICKS. NO LOUD POPS, AND NO HEAVY CRACKLE

THERE IS SOME OCCASIONAL LOW LEVEL BACKGROUND AND A LITTLE STATIC LIKE STUFF TO BE HEARD

SOME OCCASIONAL TICS, AND POPS AND A LITTLE LIGHT BACKGROUND

THE CLARITY OF THE STEREO SOUND IS STILL EVIDENT AND DESPITE THE SURFACE MARKS THE ALBUM STILL PLAYS WITHOUT AND SKIPS OR LOUDS CLICKS

SO I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU TAKE A GOOD LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM AS IT SOUNDS FAR BETTER THAN IT LOOKS

I WOULD GRADE THE AUDIO AT VG

PLEASE JUDGE IT FOR YOURSELF THOUGH AS YOU LISTEN TO THE RECORDING

THE SLEEVE

E.J DAY SINGLE SLEEVE WITH FLIPBACKS.

THIS ONE IS CERTAINLY NOT PRISTINE, BUT IT HAS ESCAPED ANY RIPS OR TEARS TO THE SURFACE, AND IS STILL IN VERY GOOD SHAPE

THE FRONT SURFACE HAS SOME WEAR TO ALL FOUR CORNERS, BUT NO RING WEAR OR RECORD SHAPE

THE LAMINATE STILL SHINES NICELY

THERE ARE SIXTEEN SMALL LAMINATE LINES AGAINST THE SPINE.  EIGHT  SMALL ONES ON THE TOP EDGE, TWELVE MORE ON THE BOTTOM EDGE, AND ONE THUMB LINE NEAR THE OPENING EDGE

THE TOP EDGE HAS WEAR TO BOTH CORNER TIPS , BUT OTHERWISE CLEAN AND SMOOTH. THE BOTTOM EDGE HAS THE SAME CORNER WEAR, BUT ALSO HALF A DOZEN SMALL CHIPS TO THE LAMINATE

THE SPINE HAS WEAR TO THE TOP AND BOTTOM TIPS, AND A FEW SMALL CHIPS ALONG THE SURFACE

THE OPENING EDGE IS STILL FAIRLY SHARP WHEN YOU CONSIDER HOW MOST OF THESE END UP. THERE IS A LITTLE PATCHY BURRING BUT NOTHING TO SEVERE

THE REAR SURFACE IS SHOWING ITS AGE. THE WHITE POROUS SURFACE HAS AGED A LOT AROUND THE EDGES, AND THE FLIPBACKS ARE SHOWING FOXING, PLUS THE BOTTOM ONE HAS SOME EDGE DAMAGE. A NAME HAS BEEN INKED OUT ON THE TOP

THE POLY LINED SLEEVE IS UNSPLIT , HAS ONE CORNER CREASE, AND IS LIGHTLY AGED

I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO GRADE THIS SLEEVE AS VG MINUS

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BID IF YOU CHOSE TO GO FOR IT
