Each of these singles I am currently listing have been graded in five different ways using the following: G, G+, VG, VG-, VG+, EX, EX+ NM, MM, M
The Labels
I have graded the labels based on a number of factors.
The amount of spider lines around the spindle hole
Any Paper Snags
Writing on the labels
Missing Centre Push Out
Sticker Residue / Marks
If any of these are present then the grading will be VG+ at the highest. However I have added pictures of both sides of the labels so that you will be able to see the condition as well as just read the grading
The Appearance of the Vinyl
This of course is the most subjective as records can look brilliant but sound poor and the opposite is always true
so as a guidance and EX+ visual will have no obvious marks in daylight and even under spotlight will only have a few wispy hairlines
EX would be similar but with more illuminated wispy hairlines and perhaps a couple of non sounding wispy handling lines
VG+ would have some obvious handling lines in addition but would be surface only
VG would have quite a few marks and lines but would again be pretty well surface only
The Sleeve
I always find this difficult to grade because of how sleeves were treated back in the 60's. Most people for some reason wrote on them and I have thought about this whilst grading. Again I have taken pictures of both sides so that you are able to see exactly what you will be getting
NM would have no tears or nicks and perhaps only a number neatly written at the top
EX+ would again have no tears, or significant creases, but may have writing depicting the title and artist and perhaps even how many plays the record has received
EX would be similar but may have a crease or two
VG+ Similar but maybe a small nick to the diecut hole
VG would probably have a small seam split and or light marks and stains
The Audio Performance
How it sounds. This of course is also subjective, but i have based it on the following
NM - Barely any noise whatsoever, perhaps in the run out a little
EX+ Similar but with a little noise only in the dead wax
EX - Similar with a little more audible noise in the dead wax
VG+ perhaps a little light background in addition and maybe a tic or two
VG - some background crackle and some tics and light pops
NONE OF THE RECORDS I HAVE LISTED- JUMP OR STICK OR HAVE LOUD CLICKS
The last grading is for your personal pleasure. I have recorded both sides of each record that I have listed so that you are able to hear exactly what it sounds like before you bid
This to me is a great addition to the listing as then you can be absolutely certain how it will sound when you get it
so please take the time to listen to the recording at the top of the page
POSTAGE AND PACKING
I will combine shipping , so if you bid on more than one record please wait until you have finished before requesting an invoice, that way I will be able weight them and ensure you get the right cost
The records will be well packed and each one will come in its own poly sleeve with the record removed from the card or paper sleeve to avoid any damage to the sleeve
The mailers that I use are square box type with stiff corners. I will also add stiffners where needed and work very hard to ensure your package arrives in top condition
