78 rpm BLUES - 1946 release, 1A pressing, BIG BILL BROONZY opening with "CELL NO. 13 BLUES" and "YOU GOT THE BEST GO" -- besides Bill's vocals, he was an early adopter of the electric guitar during his Chicago days and plays so on Cell No. 13, and includes a nice horn section-- trumpeter Johnny Morton, saxophonists Buster Bennett, Bill Casimir, and Oett "Sax" Mallard and his usual Chicago session men, pianists either Big Maceo Merriweather or Memphis Slim -- the flip side, probably the more interesting cut, "YOU'VE GOT THE BEST GO" is stripped down stomp featuring Bill on his electric Gibson, piano (probably Big Maceo considering boogie edge) and maybe Fred Williams on drums -- recorded in Chicago on in 1945 -- record is play graded, plays strong, with light surface noise -- great gloss and graded at VG+ for this 78 rpm 10" COLUMBIA 37164 -- please see photos.
This record will be securely packed in a new 12x12x4 box sandwiched between cardboard stiffeners and floating in a paper fill.
