For auction is the JFK QUINTET's "New Jazz Frontiers from Washington," on Riverside RLP 396, MONO, DG, 1961. With Ray Codrington, Andy White, Harry Killgo, Walter Booker Jr. and Mickey Newman.
SOUND: NM
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Near perfect! Only 15-20 seconds of light tics in B2, "Nairod," keeps me from grading it "Mint." Overall outstanding, delightful playback!
VINYL: VG+
Visually, the vinyl looks clean and newish overall. There is a tiny, feel-able mark in B2, results in about 15 seconds of light tics described above. If not for this, the vinyl would be solid NM. The deep-grooved labels are blue "mike-and-reel," in terrific condition with a few faint spindle marks.
JACKET: VG+/NM
The edges and spine are solid with minor, routine wear. The corners too, have just a touch of average wear. Front cover is clean and excellent condition. Back has "property of" in pen. A few small waves in the paper on the back, with some slight yellowing. Otherwise very nice overall.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
Near-perfect playback, very nice condition all-around. A very good value at $15
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
