I am an active record collector and buyer. I grade and sell records, and package and ship them, like I was buying the records for myself. In other words, no over-grading, and no pizza boxes or flimsy mailers.
I package professionally, and ship items promptly, in sturdy record mailers.
All LP's are placed outside of outer jackets and inside plastic mylar outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting.
About My Grading system: Goldmine standards.
Mint records are new, unplayed, and records must be top-notch to receive that grade, with no scratches or marks on the vinyl.
NM- records are nearly perfect, with the slightest signs of use (no scratches).
My EX+ records are essentially clean and free of defects besides perhaps come slight sleeve marks, or 1 or 2 small light marks that prevent the LP from being truly NM-.
VG+ LP’s may have a few more light hairline scratches that DNAP.
Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
