This remarkable and rare LP from Polydor · Vox (PL 6290, US pressing, black/silver label, mono – no stereo edition exists) features that wonderful Mozartian Lili Kraus in a magical rendtion of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor K. 466, recorded with conductor Enrique Jorda and the Pro Musica Orchestra (in fact, the Orchestre Lamoureux) at the Salle Pleyel, Paris, on 2 March 1950. Filling out the disc are Kraus’s equally inspired accounts of Mozart’s Rondo in D Major K. 485 and the Minuet in D Major K. 355, both for solo piano, and both set down at the Salle Chopin, Paris, on 6 March 1950.
