1969 Led Zeppelin II LPRobert Ludwig Hot Mix RL Atlantic Records SD 8236 Up fo your consideration is the highly sought after Monarch RL SS on both sides example of Led Zeppelin II. This copy kicks butt and is fun to play. Comes protected in a Mofi sleeve.  Cover Jacket: VG+, there are no seam splits, there is some light edge wear. Corners have some where but mostly crisp and no folds See pictures for these areas, Overall it presents very well visually, feels sturdy and quality in the hands.   Vinyl: VG+ Nice thick vinyl with absolutely no warps and still glossy. It does have some paper scuffs/hairlines but an incredibly clean overall. There are a couple light scratches which are described below but overall this is a very nice copy for a hard to find RL. Labels: Beautiful shape Side1&2, No observed spindle marks  include"MO" suffix (indicating Monarch pressing) and "Mfg By AtlanticRecording Corp., 1841 Broadway, New York, N.Y.”. Inner Sleeve: Beautiful shape looks new Sound: VG+ To Excellent This is a record to be proud of and show anyone who’s curious how good an RL sounds:)
I don’t ever give a play by play on albums but I had time this afternoon and I like Led Zeppelin II. This album rocks hard! They say Monarch pressed records play with a little something extra in the way of dynamics, this is no different.  There is some light surface noise in lead in groove/ quiet passages which has also been said to occur with monarchs but who knows. I own a mint version of this vinyl and it's about the same as this. Perhaps it just needs a nice clean to kill any static.
Side I Whole lotta love- Faint surface noise intro ; goes away as soon as song starts rocking: no repeating or loud pops from scratches  or skips. Sound: Watch your Volume setting music gets real loud real quick!  What is and what should never be:  Very faint surface noise in quiet passages, not distracting, no repeating or loud pops from scratches  or skips How many more times: Clean quiet vinyl for the start, faint repeating tick only heard in quiet section in background for half the song, rest of the song clean playback. Any other record you would say this is a clean sounding vinyl. Base is off the hook in this song  Thank you: Super Clean intro almost no hint it's a vinyl playing, really no noticeable surfaces noise in the quiet sections Sound: Really nice separation base really strong and Plant’s vocals are out front and center. Really clear organ section too. Song fades out and come back in really quiet background
Side II Heartbreaker: Slight surface noise on lead in groove. No other issues..Lovin those drums Living loving maid: Plays with no issues..What a great sound drum rolls and guitar flanging  Ramble on: Plays with no issues. Quiet clean vinyl during the intro..Bass once again is right out front and fun to follow. Moby Dick: slight surface noice in the lead in space before start of the song. Must be one of the greatest rock & roll drum solos of it's time. Bring it on Home: Light surface noise in the beginning quiet section and the rest no issue, the ending plays clean.  No issues with playback, have to turn down or my downstair’s neighbor will feel the base and get upset…again
Notes: I play on a very revealing Rega turntable setup through newer Klipsch horn loaded speakers. If a fly landed on the surface and left a print I’d hear it. It's entirely possible with a light clean and another HiFi speaker setup that it would play even better than above!
