For sale is ARTIE SHAW & His GRAMERCY FIVE's "Album #3," on Clef MG C-630, MONO, DG, 1954.
SOUND: NM It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Outstanding, clear sound and a great listening experience! Very minor surface noise audible at times, almost negligible! A beautiful listen!
VINYL: NM The vinyl is absolutely lovely! Clean and glossy. A few faint smudges from prints or from the inner-sleeve are the only flaws I can detect. The labels are black/silver, semi-glossy Clef "trumpeter" in beautiful condition, with a tiny bit of wear around the hole on side B.
JACKET: NM Again, outstanding condition. Heavy cardboard is solid all-around, with very nice corners too. David Stone Martin illustration. Both the front and back covers are clean and unmarked, with some very minor aging, but overall this 66-year-old jacket is brilliant!
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
Beautiful condition! Playback, vinyl, cover! Buy-it-now for $20.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material. Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
