This is a very particular item – an A1Z variant of The Rolling Stones’ eponymous debut album, with the longer-running ‘Mona variant (ergo 2nd ‘true’ pressing); on the red/silver ‘ear’ Decca label.

The sleeve has various clarifoil creases to the front cover but otherwise is clean, while the back has peeling on the top layer of the flipbacks and some small stains.
The disc has various marks, scrapes and some previous groove residue – I’ve cleaned by hand with a microfibre and isopropyl solution and while the couple of tracks I played sounded fine to the ear on my system (given the original recording quality); it would benefit from a clean on a suitable machine which would improve it further.

The ‘regular’ A1Z variant features are: 1.No "B.I.E.M." on labels 2."N.C.B." on both labels at the right 3."Mona" instead of "I Need You Baby" 4. Red/Silver Ear Label 5. No "Morris" as one of the publishers 6. MADE IN ENGLAND. THE DECCA RECORD CO. LTD.
In addition this copy has various additional ‘misprints’ which add to the intrigue:
1.Front Cover: A blue background in the ‘Decca Box’ instead of the usual black background. 2. Back Cover, Track B5: "You Can Make It You Try" instead of "You Can Make It If You Try". 3.Back Cover & Label, Track B4: "Bozier" instead of "Dozier".
