The box set tells the story of the rock ballad penned by Klaus Meine, who was inspired by the experience of playing with the Scorpions at the Moscow Music Peace Festival in 1989, the feeling of hope, optimism and the prospect of a better future in wrote down the work and, unsuspectingly, created the soundtrack for the end of the Cold War.

When we came on stage in the Lenin Stadium and rocked with Blackout, the soldiers of the Red Army, who were deployed as security, threw their hats and jackets in the air, turned to us and became one with the fans. The world changed before our eyes ... It was indescribable!

In an 84-page book, Dr. Edgar Klüsener, former editor-in-chief of Metal Hammer and close confidante of the band, extensively explains the genesis and the effect of the song. The book is completed with excerpts from an interview with Klaus Meine that took place in June 2020 as well as numerous photographs by the band photographer Didi Zill, who accompanied the band at the Moscow Music Peace Festival. Also included are recordings from Klaus Meines private archive.

In addition to the book, the box set contains the Wind of Change arrangement for piano and vocals, as well as five versions of the rock ballad: the Crazy World version, the version of the Scorpions & Berliner Philharmoniker, the Russian, the Spanish and a previously unknown version Demo version by Klaus Meine.

Contains 84-page hardcover book, incl. rare photos and archive material, arrangement for piano and vocals, & 5 versions of the iconic song, incl. first demo version on CD and 12 "vinyl.
