MINT (M)
Jacket sealed shut in shrink wrap; disc sold ungraded or "as is".
NEAR MINT (NM)
No signs of prior use. Plays perfectly.
Cover looks as if it just came from a store and was opened for the first time. Often in shrink. Sharp corners, strong legible spine. No surface wear or splits.
Vinyl is just shy of brand new looking. May have one or two visible imperfections (i.e. sleeve scuffs, faint scratches, or other superficial marks) that will not affect play.
Cover is just short of Near Mint. Corners, edges, and surfaces may show light wear.
A few visible imperfections. These may include sleeve scuffs, light scratches, or other superficial marks.
Cover with no significant ring-wear or staining. Seams are fully intact, and the spine is strong and readable.
Records graded VG+ and above will typically not have any scratches or marks that are deep enough to be felt with a fingernail. Surface noise may be present but will not be overpowering.
Cover is considered still 'frame-able' yet when observed closely may have minor flaws, including light ring-wear, edge creases, or corner wear. Edges and corners may show wear but there are no splits.
The presence of a considerable number of light scratches will force a VG grade, as will the presence of significant isolated defects such as scratches deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.
Cover shows obvious signs of use (i.e., surface wear, stains, creases, partial splits, worn edges).
