SUPERSTARS OF THE 70'S "Various Artists" 1973 Four LP Box Set On Warner Bros. Special Products SP-4000 Pop Rock, Classic Rock, Psychedelic Rock Vocal Stereo Release, Vinyl EX++, Album Cover VG To VG+, Awesome Sound!
THIS RELEASE CONTAINS A TOTAL OF 48 SELECTIONS. TRACK TIMES, CREDITS, ANY MATRIX RUNOUTS OR OTHER IDENTIFIERS (If Available) MAY BE VIEWED IN THE LAST FRAME OF THE PHOTO GALLERY. ATTN: COLLECTORS: Exact Matrix Runouts Available Upon Request.
ALBUM CARTON VG To VG+: Album cover has plenty of rough spots, but no serious damage. Moderate to heavy roughness all around the edges. Moderate dings and abrasions on the corners. No graffiti. No seam splits or glue separation on the box corners. Little to no general ring/shelf wear. No shrinkwrap of course. Lettering on all four edges is still bold and 100% legible. No other specific damage or wear to disclose. Cover carton is in VG to VG+ condition overall.
INNER SLEEVES EX: Original plain vanilla inner sleeves (with label holes) are in quite nice condition. No bent corner creases or glue separation. No seam splits. Label hole areas are all clean. Mouth edges are smooth. No graffiti or other common damage or wear to declare. NOTE: It is stated in remarks that this release contained a folded inlay/booklet with track list and other data. I do not remember seeing such a booklet, but that said, if there was one, it is missing. This album package is a one owner purchased by yours truly.
LABELS EX To NM: Labels are in great shape overall. Clean, no scratches, tears or graffiti. Background base colors and logos are still bold, black fine print is still bold. Lettering is 100% legible. Near zero wear and no cracks around the spindle holes (see photos). Near zero visible spindle trails on any of the sides. Each side is in superb condition all around.
VINYL RECORDS EX+: The vinyl is extremely clean visually on all four sides, no egregious scratches or blemishes. If viewed closely there are a couple of very light surface scratches, marks or blemishes on sides 2, 7 and 8 (no significant impact on sound quality). Virtually no scratches or blemishes on any of the other 5 sides. The record still sounds super nice and my audible gradings ranged from A to A-. Not every side is totally noise free during tracks play but any noise there is, is not at all distracting. Near zero wear is noticeable on any side and the vinyl is not dull. The records were played infrequently, not overplayed, on more modern equipment and with care. A thorough "professional" type deep cleaning might enhance overall sound quality, but the records still sound fantastic in "as is" condition. Sides 1,3, 4,6 and 8 graded out an "A" and sides 2,5 & 7 an "A-".
ALL EIGHT SIDES OF THIS ALBUM WERE PARTIALLY GRADED AUDIBLY, "LOUD" IN MONO MODE SO THAT ANY NOISE POLLUTION COULD BE DOCUMENTED FOR THIS DESCRIPTION. NO HEADPHONES GRADING!
PLEASE USE THE LETTER GRADE GUIDE DETAILS FOLLOWING THE SIDE NUMBERS TO DETERMINE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD AFTER IT HAS BEEN PLAY GRADED BY THIS SELLER. Any comments not highlighted in the following letter grades will be noted immediately following the audible grade next to the side number.
SIDES 1, 3, 4 6, 8: - Audible Grade "A" (Awesome sound, near zero noise between tracks). SIDES 2, 5, 7: - Audible Grade "A-" (Ex sound, a very light pop scattered on occasions).
"A" * Near zero to zero noise in the lead in groove area. Clean, crisp, clear overall sound with virtually no surface noise during track play and zero to near zero noise in the dead wax trail off area. Zero or near zero noticeable wear in the groove area and appearance is shiny with virtually no wear visible.
"A-" * Very light to near zero noise in the lead in groove area. Excellent overall sound with only very light surface noise on occasions during track play but nothing distracting. Almost no visible wear in the groove area and appearance is shiny with nice luster. Very light to near zero noise in the dead wax trail off area.
"B+" * Very light to light noise in the lead in groove area. VG+ overall sound with very light to light surface noise scattered throughout the track. A scattered very light pop can be noticed on rare occasions. Only slight wear noticeable in the groove area and visual appearance is shiny with very nice luster. Very light to light noise in the dead wax trail off area.
"B" * Very light to light or moderate noise in the lead in groove area. VG+ to EX overall sound with very light to light surface noise scattered or occasionally throughout the track, but nothing of a distracting nature. Light or very light pops possible on one or more than one occasion. Very light to light wear in the groove area and appearance is shiny with little to no noticeable wear. Light or moderate noise in the dead wax trail off area.
"B-" * Light noise in the lead in groove area. VG+ overall sound with light or moderate surface noise fairly constant throughout the track. Possible very light or light pops and/or clicks are noticeable on occasions. Light wear in the groove area and appearance is fairly shiny. Light to moderate noise with one or more pops in the dead wax trail off area.
"C+" * Light to moderate noise and/or popping in the lead in groove area. Just above average overall sound with moderate surface noise fairly constant throughout, but nothing terribly distracting. Light wear in the grooves and appearance is still somewhat shiny. Occasional pops or clicks. Moderate noise in the dead wax trail off area.
"C" * Moderate noise and/or popping in the lead in groove area. Average overall sound with moderate surface noise almost constant throughout. Noise is a minor distraction, but side still sounds nice enough to be recorded to another audio medium. Light to moderate wear in the grooves and appearance is slightly dull. Moderate noise in the dead wax trail off area.
"C-" * Moderate to semi-loud noise and popping in the lead in groove area. Below average sound with moderate to semi-heavy surface noise on a fairly constant basis throughout the track. Moderate wear in the grooves, appearance is dull. A short skip may/may not be noticed during track's play. Moderate to semi-loud noise and/or popping in the dead wax trail off area.
"D+" * Semi-loud noise and/or popping in the lead in groove area. Playable, but a lot of distracting surface noise, clicking and/or popping. Fair to Good Minus overall sound quality. Moderate to near heavy wear in the grooves, appearance is grayish. A lot of semi-loud noise in the dead wax trail off area.
"D" * Loud noise and/or popping in the lead in groove area. Moderate to heavy wear in the grooves and appearance is very dull. Poor overall sound quality. Excessive surface noise, clicking or popping throughout the track. Excessive noise in the dead wax trail off area.
"D-" * Very loud noise and popping in the lead in groove area and the dead wax trail off area. Track is loaded with excessive noise and/or popping. Heavy wear in the grooves and nearly unplayable. Listening is painful if not nearly impossible.
"F" * Record is cracked, chipped or otherwise damaged to a degree where it is unplayable and is scrap material. A record with this grade would only be listed in the event it were extremely rare, and then only for collector purposes.
SUMMARY: A one owner purchased by yours truly, this album package is in great condition overall for a pre-owned album and the vinyl is pretty close to spotless in appearance. The cover has a number of rough spots, but the records are, "in my opinion", easily qualified for casual listening or re-recording to another audio medium. There is little to no surface noise and/or obnoxious popping during tracks play. The record has near zero visible wear, and is not dull in appearance on any side. No nasty surface scratches on either side. The sound quality is excellent. This record has been played a few times, and certainly not overplayed. All sides play through okay with no skips or hangs. Pleasant listening overall throughout all of the tracks. NOTE: I "did" not grade this album package "Wall To Wall" but did grade a number of the songs on each album side to note any and all deficiencies in sound quality that I could share with prospective buyers. The record package is "a player", for sure.

"THANKS FOR HAVING A LOOK"
I am not a licensed dealer, nor will I pretend to be an expert on grading records. I'm just a guy that's been buying and collecting records for close to 60 years. I use Goldmines price guide as a tool when either buying or selling an album or 45. My listing procedure is: to clean the record (if necessary), visually inspect record and/or cover for obvious flaws, damage or imperfections, and to play each record in its entirety to evaluate overall sound quality. I try to simply give my honest opinion of the records' condition without any technical gobbledygook. I believe that grading a record can be as subjective as judging Olympic figure skating, therefore, my opinion may well differ from yours as a prospective buyer, either in a positive or in a negative way. I simply offer a full money back guarantee on any record that I sell if you are not 100% satisfied with the purchase. I do not want negative feedback in the event that I overlook an egregious flaw or if my opinion of the record is beneath the buyer's expectations. If you are the end buyer and are dissatisfied in any way, please contact me immediately and return the record in the condition you received it within 30 days of the purchase date. I ship same or next business day after payment is received. All records with a purchase price of $25.00 or more will be insured (included in the shipping price).
