For sale is ASTRUD GILBERTO with WALTER WANDERLEY, "A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness," on Verve V6-8673, DG, Stereo, 1966, RVG.
SOUND: VG+/NM It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. The first three cuts have a touch of soft surface noise. Not bad, still sounds like a VG+ record. From that point forward, through side B, beautifully clear and crisp sound. Overall a very nice listening experience.
VINYL: VG+/NM The vinyl appears beautifully clean and in very good condition. A couple very faint, completely superficial scuffs, barely noticeable. "Van Gelder" stamps in dead wax. Deep-grooved labels are clean and look good, with a little wear around the spindle hole.
JACKET: VG+ Edges and spine are solid all-around, with minor, routine wear. Corners too, have common, minor wear. Front and back covers are beautifully bright and clean, with a bit of writing in ink.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
Overall, beautiful vinyl, playback and jacket. Buy-it-now for $15.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction. I'm not a collector, nor an audiophile, but I think they are desirable if you're into this kind of material.  Click "see other items" and thanks for looking!
