This auction is for the increasingly rare WIZARD OF OZ DECCA ALBUM NO.74 SET OF 4 10" 78 RPM RECORDS -- released in 1939!
THE MUSICAL SCORE OF METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER'S MOTION PICTURE TRIUMPH! This is the ORIGINAL Vintage 1939 WIZARD OF OZ Decca Album No.74 -- not some later, cheaper re-release, but the record set that came out WHEN THE MOVIE PREMIERED! Complete on four
10-inch Records, with a book-style album encasing the records.
This COLLECTORS ITEM includes the song 'The Jitterbug', which was deleted from the print of the film just days before the Official Premiere in August 1939, but it's inclusion in this set makes it all the more valuable and collectible!
INSIDE OF THE FRONT AND BACK ALBUM COVER ARE 22 SCENES FROM THE MOVIE, featuring JUDY GARLAND, RAY BOLGER, JACK HALEY, BERT LAHR, and the rest of the cast, plus photos of JUDY GARLAND, Orchestra conductor VICTOR YOUNG, MUSIC COMPOSER HAROLD ARLEN and LYRICIST E. Y. HARBURG.
This is the BEST SET I've seen in YEARS! A full set in this beautiful condition is extremely rare, especially because it contains the COMPLETE SET of all four records. There is some minor scuffing on album cover corners -- see photos -- but otherwise it's in AMAZING shape!
