Recorded in 1976 for television and showcasing the experiment that was the Organic Music Society, Om Shanti Om is live music as alchemy. Don Cherry’s trumpet dovetails beautifully with the rhythms of the Brazilian percussionist Nana Vasconcelos, the guitar licks of Gian Piero Pramaggiore, and the Indian tanpura of Moki.
